»Urbane Künste Ruhr« has invited Katja Stuke and Oliver Sieber in the »Grand Snail Tour«, a three-year journey through all 53 cities of the Ruhr region. At the end of January, they will create an »artistic action« on a parking lot in front of a shoe center and retail shop in Schwerte—located in the easternmost part of the Ruhr Area. For this project, they searched their photographic archives, looking for parking lots from around the world. They found images from New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Toronto, Paris, Macon, Barcelona, Lucca, Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, Oberhausen, Dortmund, Duisburg, and Chongqing. Some of these may already be familiar from past projects or early zines, whether in color or black and white. As part of the event, Katja Stuke and Oliver Sieber will produce four billboards, a multcopy, a new zine, and a special edition. The action will take place on January 29, from 15 to 21 pm.
